Robert H. Raisbeck, Jr. was born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1963. At the age of four, his family moved to Laurel, Maryland, where he was raised in the shadow of the nation’s capital. As a high school student, he won four state track and cross country championships, and was a two-time All-American. Rob attended Wake Forest University on a track scholarship, and was named the team’s captain his senior year. Rob graduated in 1985 with a degree in history, and after working for a law firm in Washington, D.C. for a year, enrolled in the Wake Forest University School of Law. During the summer of 1987, Rob completed a course of study in London, England, focused on the History of the English Common Law. Rob received his Juris Doctor from WFU School of Law in 1989, later joining our firm in January 1990. Rob met his wife, Teresa, while she was working at the firm, and they have now been married for over 27 years, and are the proud parents of two children. Rob became a partner in the firm in 1993.
Rob’s main practice area is criminal defense, including felonies, misdemeanors, DWI’s, traffic matters, driver’s license hearings and expungements, and he is certified in field sobriety testing as it applies to DWI defense. Rob also handles family law matters and personal injury cases.
Rob currently serves as the President of the Davie County Bar. For the last 6 years he has served on the Davie County Board of Elections and is a past Chair of that Board. Rob has served on a number of non-profit boards. For 7 years he served on the Board of the Davie Family YMCA, along with many years spent serving on the Board of the Criminal Justice Partnership Program, and the American Heart Association Board. For 20 years Rob served on the Boards of the Davie Developmentally Disabled Foundation and the Davie County Group Home, serving as Board Chairman for 10 of those years. Currently, Rob is in his sixth season as the Davie High School head cross country coach for both the boys and girls teams. For the past 3 years, Rob has also been the head coach for the indoor and outdoor track teams. Rob and his family attend Jericho Church of Christ in Mocksville, where Rob has served in various capacities, including song leader.
